The name "Romania" comes from the Latin word "Romanus" which means "citizen of the Roman Empire."

Romanian is the only Latin language which has developed in the Eastern part of Europe, the rest of them being Slavic

The modern jet engine was invented by the Romanian inventor Henri Coanda in 1910.

On 18th of Murch 1906 , the Romanian inventor Traian Vuia was the first European to build and fly a fully self-propelled, fixed-wing ‘automobile airplane.

The insulin was discovered by the Romanian scientist Nicolae Paulescu. He who originally called it pancreine.

The fountain pen was invented by the Romanian Petrache Poenaru. His invention was patented in May 1827.

The Romanian Stefan Odobleja published his work "Psychology consonantiste", in Paris, in 1938. He actually set the basic themes of cybernetics. His work appeared ten years before Norbert Wiener’s ideas were printed. Stefan Odobleja is considered to be the "Father of Cybernetics".

The earliest Homo sapiens fossils were discovered in 2002 in south-western Romania, in the Cave of Bones. The fossil’s age is estimated at 37,800 to 42,000 years old.

The statue of Dacian king Decebal, carved in the rocky bank of the Danube's Cauldrons, is the tallest rock sculpture in Europe (135 feet tall).

The Europe’s second largest underground glacier, is located unnderneath the Bihor Mountains in Romania. Its name is Scarisoara glacer and has a volume of 75,000 cubic meters. It seams it has existed for more than 3,500 years.

Herastrau Park  is Europe’s largest park within a city. It covers over 270 acres (110 ha).

Bucharest was the first city in the world illuminated by oil lamps (1895).

Timisoara became the first European city with electric street lighting in 1889.

Timisoara was also the first European city with horse-drawn trams in 1869.

Romania’s famous Peles Castle was the first completely electrified castle in Europe. The electricity was produced by the castle’s own plant.

The first screening of projected motion pictures took place in Bucharest in 1896, shortly after the world premiere in Paris. One of the Lumière brothers projected several films for Bucharest’s high society.

Bucharest’s Palace of Parliament, also known as the People’s Palace, is the world’s largest civilian building with an administrative function. It is also the second largest building in the world after the Pentagon in the US. It covers about 330,000 sqm.

The Voronet Monastery, situated in northeastern Romania, is also known as the "Sistine Chapel of the East". Its frescoes feature an intense shade of blue also known as the "Voronet blue".

Romania is home to Europe’s largest population of brown bears (over 6000 animals).

Romanian Nadia Comaneci was the first gymnast to receive a perfect score of ten in an Olympic competition, in Montreal in 1976.

Day 1
Meet and greet in Henri Coanda airport, transfer to 4* hotel/check in, guided visit of the old center of Bucharest and the Palace of Parliament, welcome dinner and music in a local restaurant.


Day 2 - 250km
Breakfast and drive to Black Sea coast, stop for lunch en route, then drive to Venus resort on the Black Sea coast, check in 4* hotel, free time on the beach, dinner with music in hotel restaurant.


Day 3 - local
Breakfast, free time at the swimming pool and beach,
surprise transfer for lunch, return to Venus, free time at the beach, dinner & show in hotel restaurant.

Day 4 - 195km
Breakfast, drive to Murighiol in the Danube Delta, check in 4* hotel/pension, lunch, boat ride on the channels and lakes, dinner at hotel/pension.

Day 5 - local
Breakfast, boat ride to Sulina, visit the town, the lighthouse, bus ride to the sea side beach, lunch in Sulina, return by boat on the lakes, free time at the swimming pool, dinner and show on the terrace.


Day 6 - 290km
Breakfast, drive to Berca, lunch en route, visit the mud volcanoes ( You will discover spectacular lunar landscape with mud hollows and crevasses lying on gray dry and salty hills. Volcanoes are still active, bubbling and mumbling in the wind), drive to 3* hotel, check in, free time and dinner.

Day 7 - 165km
Breakfast, drive through valea Buzaului to Brasov one of the oldest settlements in Romania having continuous human traces since 9500 BCE. Lunch. Visit the Black Church (largest hall-church from Vienna to Constantinopole, sheltering the biggest mechanical organ in Romania, the second largest oriental carpet collection in Europe and the biggest church bell in Romania). Drive to Rasnov citadel (1225) presumed to have been built by teutons knights firts from wood, than in stone. Guided visit. Drive to Predeal one of the most popular ski resort in Romania, check in 4* hotel,refresh.
Surprise dinner and show in.

Day 8 - 170km
Breakfast, drive to Sinaia, visit the Peles castle (former royal summer residence of romanian kings / queens).
Drive to Henri Coanda airport depending on flight time. End of services.
